Genesis 5: What good is it to live a long time if you aren’t living in a way that honors God? Do the math - you will find that Methusaleh died in the same year as the flood. It is hard to tread water when you are 969 years old!
Genesis 6: Notice the emotions of God. His heart is broken. He decided to be patient. Never think of God being unfeeling.
Psalm 3: Remember the promises of God, not the voices of the discouragers.
Matthew 2:1-12: How do you react to the signs that God is at work? Are you spiritually curious - like the wise men - and want to pursue God so you can worship? Or are you threatened - like Herod - and want to attack so you can maintain the illusion that God is in control?
Acts 2:1-21: The first miracle of the church is the miracle of hearing. People heard the gospel in their own language. This is an incredible call for the church to be culturally relevant. If we not speaking in people’s language, we are hiding the best news in the world!
