Off the Page
In my daily Bible reading, these verses jumped off the page at me:
2 Chronicles 15:7 - God’s words to Asa that I need to hear: “Be strong and do not give up , for your work will be rewarded.” Even the King needs to be encouraged. This is also the theme for Sunday’s message as we launch the IMPOSSIBLE series.
Same chapter, verse 15 - “They sought God eagerly, and he was found by them.” WOW! I needed that. It is a major temptation for me to seek God casually, not eagerly. Eagerly takes time, drive, energy.
Asa was blest by God early because he depended on him. But he lost that focus - he relied on his own judgement in dealing with a threat in 2 Chronicles 16, instead of relying on God. Here’s the lesson - your relationship with God is only as healthy as your last decision.
