In my daily Bible Study I read today Jeremiah 10:23-24: :”I know, O LORD, that a Man’s life is not his own; it is not for man to direct his steps. Correct me, LORD -but only with justice - not in your anger, lest you reduce me to nothing.”
What really jumped off the page at me:
- My life is not my own. I can live in denial and resist God’s way, or I can accept life as stewardship.
- God has a purpose for my life - Jeremiah knew this before Rick Warren!! Every moment I spend praying for God’s direction is to the good!
- I need God’s correction - I may not like it, or enjoy it - but I need it to stay on track. I am shamed to admit most of the frustration in my life comes because I don’t accept or seek God’s correction.
- God’s correction is based in justice - He is fair to me - beyond fair. I can trust HIM!
